Homes or Houses are basic need of every human being. That’s why humans used different types of building material to decorating and designing their houses. Some common types of building materials are cement, stone, wood, clay, bricks, and many others. Now day’s peoples used modern types of building material such as cement board, fiberboard, plywood and etc. in interior decorating and design. In this post, we compiled a list of timber wood and boards.

Cement Boards are a combination of cement & reinforcing fibers and one of the neat home remodeling inventions of the 20th century. It is available in different sizes but commonly size is four foot by eight foot sheets or three foot by five foot sheets. Cement Boards are really makes your tiling project go faster and look better in the end. These boards are used in kitchen counters, backsplashes and sometime also on the exterior of buildings as a base for exterior plates.

Plywood is used instead of plain wood because it is provides additional features like resistance to cracking, shrinkage, splitting, and twisting. Plywood is coming in different varieties that are used for different application. Some common types are Softwood plywood, Hardwood plywood, Tropical plywood, Special-purpose plywood, Aircraft plywood, Decorative plywood, Flexible plywood and Marine plywood.

It is a type of engineered wood product that is made by binding together wood stands, fibers with adhesives to make a composite material. Solid wood Boards are commonly used to make furniture that are strong enough as compare to other furniture material.

Timber is another name of wood also called as lumber for use as structural material for construction or paper production. Timer is available in two forms either rough or finished. Finished timber is coming in standard sizes, supplies mostly for the construction industry and rough timber is commonly used for furniture making and other items.

Wood veneer refers to thin slices of wood, usually less than 1/8 inch or 3mm in thickness. It is typically glued onto core panels of fiberboard or particleboard to make cabinets, doors, and other different furniture parts. Wood veneers are manufactured by slicing a tree trunk to obtain a sheet of wood. Ancient Egyptians was made wood veneer and used to create furniture and other objects.
